Ato Teklewold Atnafu has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Management of Development Bank of Ethiopia since February 12, 2024. Ato Teklewold is the monetary policy advisor to the Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Previously, Teklewold served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE). Ato Teklewold Atnafu had also served as the Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) for nearly twenty years before he took up his current role of the financial sector advisor to Ethiopian Premier. He holds two master’s degrees, one in Financial Management and the other in Economics
