The President of the Development Bank of Ethiopia, Dr. Esayas Kassa, held discussions with Mexico’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Alejandro Estivill, on areas of potential cooperation.

The meeting took place on April 15, 2026, at the headquarters of the Development Bank of Ethiopia. During the discussion, Ambassador Alejandro Estivill stated that technical support would be provided in the areas of carbon financing and carbon bonds.

It was also indicated that carbon experts from Mexico would share their experience with professionals of the Development Bank of Ethiopia. The two sides further exchanged views on additional areas where they could collaborate.
