Girma Amente (PhD) has been appointed as member of the Board of Management of
Development Bank of Ethiopia since February 12, 2024. Dr. Girma is now the Minister of
Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture. The Minister served as the Head of Housing and Urban
Development Bureau of the Oromia Regional State, and the Coordinator of Infrastructure for
Oromia Regional Government. In addition, Dr. Girma had served in a number of positions:
As member of the Board of Directors for Oromia International Bank, Commissioner of the
Oromia State Investment Promotion Commission, in Oromia Water Works, Design and
Supervision Enterprise, and in Oromia State Development Corridors. Dr. Girma Amente has
a BSc Degree in forestry, MSc in Production Forestry, and He has also obtained PhD in Civil
Culture. The Minister also received the title of “Archbishop Desmond Tutu Leadership
