Currently, she serves as State Minister at the Ministry of Agriculture. She has held several senior leadership positions, including National Technical Coordinator for the AGP-II Program, Deputy Director for Integrated Soil Fertility and Health Management, National Coordinator for the Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA)–supported Fertilizer Recommendation Project, Case Team Leader for Soil Fertility, and Focal Person for the N2Africa and Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) MBI Project at the Debre Zeit Agricultural Research Center, with a focus on legume and rhizobiology (chickpea).

She has also served as a Researcher at the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (Debre Zeit Agricultural Research Center). In addition, she worked as a Soil Fertility Management Expert and Plant Ecologist at the Agriculture and Rural Development Office and as Head of the Women’s Affairs Office in the Oromia Zone of the Amhara National Regional State, Kemisse.

She earned her PhD in Agricultural Science from Tshwane University of Technology, South Africa. She also holds an MSc in Agriculture (specializing in Soil Science) and a BSc in Plant Production and Dry land Farming, both from Hawassa University.
