EBS Payroll Module is Ready for Business Use
The Bank ERP Project Management Office (PMO) has announced it has published Payroll Module and made ready for business use. Accordingly, HRM Directorate in collaboration with the PMO and the implementer company will process employees’ payroll through this module as of March 2019.
Payroll Module is one of the modules in HRM track in Oracle e-Business Suite (EBS) where the other modules in the Bank’s ERP Project implementation scope viz: CoreHR and Self-Service have been already put in production or are in use.
It is a standard in Oracle ERP System in particular in EBS that all modules to work in an integrated fashion as such the payroll module is fully integrated with the above mentioned HRM modules as well as Finance Modules and Supply Chain Management (SCM) modules for ease of tracking employees’ related data be it Bio, Job Position, Asset at hand, Salary, etc.
EBS payroll module is also interfaced with the Bank’s Core Banking System to transfer Employees’ net pay through an out-bound interface and loans & other deductions from the Core Banking System to the EBS system through an in-bound interface.
Finally, all employees’ payroll data are seamlessly posted to the Bank’s master GL i.e. EBS GL. The payroll module is going to be rolled-out in phase to branches however currently implemented in HO and East, West, North and South Addis Branches.
In compliance with Project Management Standard, Key Users from HRM Directorate and PMO have tested all the implemented functionalities of the payroll module and proofed that it meets the Bank’s requirements for the module. Besides, the Bank’s IT Steering Committee has endorsed the UAT completion report of payroll module by the PMO.
It is to be known that the HRM Directorate generates different kinds of reports related to payroll where pay slip is one of it, and the Consumer Loan Management Team of HRM Directorate prints this report and distribute for HO employees through their respective directorates.
However, the PMO has implemented this pay slip as part of the EBS Payroll module that is accessible through the HRM Self-Service module. Therefore, the PMO is planning to give an overview workshop on Self-Service Module just cluster wise starting from employees in VP Corporate Service. It is based on this premises that the GO-LIVE of the Payroll module is a turning point for making use of Self-Service Module with added features.
ባንኩ በሊዝ ፋይናንሲንግ አገልግሎት የገዛቸውን ተሸከርካሪዎች አስረከበ
የኢትዮጵያ ልማት ባንክ በሊዝ ፋይናንሲንግ አገልግሎት በማስጎብኘት የሥራ መስክ ለተሰማሩ አነስተኛና መካከለኛ ኢንተርፕራይዞች የገዛቸውን ተሸከርካሪዎች ጥር 30 ቀን 2011 ዓ.ም. አስረከበ፡፡
በርክክብ ሥነ ሥርዓቱ ላይ የባንኩ አነስተኛና መካከለኛ ኢንተርፕራይዝ ፋይናንሲንግ ምክትል ፕሬዚዳንት አቶ ተሾመ አለማየሁ ባስተላለፉት መልዕክት የቱር ኢንዱስትሪ ምንም እንኳን የአገልግሎት ዘርፍ (Service) ቢሆንም በልዩ ሁኔታ የባንኩ አንዱ የትኩረት ዘርፍ ሆኖ አገልግሎቱ በመሰጠት ላይ ይገኛል ብለዋል፡፡
አቶ ተሾመ አያይዘው ባንኩ ከዚህ ቀደም ለአስጎብኚ ድርጅቶች ላጸደቀው ሊዝ በተበጣጠሰ መልኩ ተሸከርካሪዎችን በአገር ውስጥ አቅራቢዎች በቀረበው መጠንና ጊዜ ለደንበኞቹ ሲያቀርብ እንደነበርና አሁን ግን የውጭ ምንዛሪ በማመቻቸት ከብር 42 ሚሊዮን 202 ሺህ በላይ በማውጣት ለ16 የሊዝ ደንበኞች 36 ለማስጎብኘት ሥራ የሚውሉ ተሸከርካሪዎችን የገዛ ሲሆን ከእነዚህም ውስጥ 26 ተሸከርካሪዎችን ለ12 ደንበኞች በዚህ ዙር ርክክብ የፈጸመ ሲሆን ቀሪዎቹን 10 ተሸከርካሪዎች ደግሞ በአንድ ወር ጊዜ ውስጥ እንደሚያስተላልፍ አክለው ገልጸዋል፡፡
ይህ በእንዲህ እንዳለ የባህልና ቱሪዝም ሚኒስቴር ተወካይ፣ ወ/ሮ ማሚት ይልማ በበኩላቸው ባንኩ ለቱሪዝም ዘርፍ መጎልበት እያበረከተ ያለውን አስተዋጽኦ አድንቀው ተሽከርካሪዎቹ ለተቋቋሙበት ዓላማ እንዲውሉ አሳስበዋል፡፡
ተሽከርካሪዎቹ ተገዝተው ወደ አገር ውስጥ የገቡት በኢትዮጵያ ሞተርና ኤንጅነሪንግ ኩባንያ /ሞኤንኮ/ በኩል እንደሆነ ይታወቃል፡፡
DBE Carries Out 2nd Quarter Meeting
Second Quarter Management Members Meeting of the Development Bank of Ethiopia was carried out here in Addis Ababa at the Ministry of Trade & Industry Conference Hall on February 01-02, 2019.
During the meeting, 2018/19 Second Quarter Performance Report of the Bank at the corporate level was presented by the Strategy, Change and Communication Directorate as well as by the respective Vice Presidents and discussed comprehensively by management members of the Bank.
The Report covered the change related activities, credit operations, financial, HR and other function’s performance of the Bank for the second quarter and semi-annual, problems encountered, corrective measures taken, strengths and weaknesses observed and the way forward.
According to the Report, the credit operations performance of the Bank’s for this quarter is better than the previous year same period. Overall, the Bank registers satisfactory level performance by approving birr 3.94 billion, disbursing birr 2.39 billion and collecting birr 1.03 billion both in project and lease financing services.
The Bank also sold Grand Renaissance Bond amounted to birr 483.09 million during the quarter against its planned sales of 250 million.
Discussion is also held on the performance of the three selected districts, namely, Hawassa, Adama and Gondar and feedbacks were collected.
President of the Bank, Ato Haileyesus Bekele during his remark said the Bank is undergoing through transformation initiatives both in internal capacity and through external consultants and everyone in the Bank should cooperate for the successful implementation of these change initiatives and transforming the Bank. In addition, all management members need to be responsive by taking into account the risk that the Bank faces instead of being rigid for customer enquiries.
Finally, Ato Haileyesus insists all management members of the Bank working in different levels should work hard to contribute share to improve loan collection, reduce NPLs and minimize lengthy work process.
DBE Gets New Board Members

Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE) has got seven new board members whom include Former Regional Director at UNDP, Tegegnework Gettu (PhD); Minister of Agriculture, Oumer Hussien; Former Minister of Agriculture, Tefera Derbew; Former Parliamentarian, Mesfin Nemera; Director of the State Think-Thank, Yohannes Ayalew (PhD); Esays Kassa and Mele’ekt Sahlu (W/rt).
Tegegnework Gettu (PhD) has appointed as Chairperson of the Board by replacing Shiferaw Shigute after receiving a letter of appointment.
The letter was issued on December 25, 2018 by Director General of Public Enterprises Holding and Administration Agency, Beyene Gebre Meskel.
Sileshi Lemma, Wondu Legesse, Tewodros Gebre-egziabher, Desalegn Ambaw, Zekarias Erkelo and Yitbarek Takele (PhD) were former board members of the Bank.
